The CATER Schools on Transdisciplinary Climate Risk Adaptation and Action

We are excited to announce the first in a planned series of annual schools on Transdisciplinary Climate Risk Adaptation and Action. The lecturers are a broad coalition of climate researchers and educators based in Norway, South Africa, and France.

We aim to create an environment where students, early-career researchers, lecturers, and practitioners across disciplines and sectors can learn together, discuss and re-interpret the latest knowledge at the forefront of climate risk resilience and adaptation in Sub-Saharan Africa.

The first annual school is co-organised by the CATER and CONFER proiects and will be held in Naivasha, Kenya between October 31 and November 9, 2023.

The school is open for applications from PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, early-career researchers, and practitioners (e.g., employees at relevant government or non-governmental agencies and private sector employees) who are engaged in a sector threatened by climate risk, resilience, and adaptation.

Other applications (e.g., Master’s students) will be considered individually, based on availability. We aim for a multidisciplinary cohort with participants from Africa and elsewhere, and an equitable gender balance.

The deadline for applications is May 28, 2023.
